Ty Kimoni Barnett (born 19 July 2005) is an English footballer who plays as a left winger for Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.[1]
Early life
From Birmingham, he attended King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys.[2]
Career
Barnett was in the academy at Birmingham City before he joined Wolves at the age of 13 years-old in 2019.[3] He signed his first professional contract with Wolves in July 2022.[4] Although his progress was hampered by injury,[5] he represented Wolves U19 at the Premier League Next Generation Cup in India in May 2023.[6] In August 2023, he signed a new three-year contract with the club.[7] On 24 December 2023, he was included in the Wolves match-day team, named as a substitute for a Premier League clash against Chelsea.[8]
Style of play
Barnett is described as a versatile midfield player who can play in higher areas as an attacking midfield player or in deeper areas, if required.[9]
Personal life
He is the son of former professional footballer Dave Barnett.[10][11]
