The 2023 Boston Marathon was a marathon race held in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 17, 2023. It was the 125th running of the Boston Marathon [2](does not count cancelled races of 1918 (ekiden) or non-event of 2020). It also marked the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing.[3][4][5] The field was limited to 30,000 runners.[6]

Results

Evans Chebet and Hellen Obiri, elite men's and women's winners respectively near the halfway point of the race.

Some 30,000 runners participated officially. A steady stream ran, jogged or walked past Mile 19 at 3:20 pm, hours after the winners crossed the finish line.
