Borborud-e Gharbi Rural District (Persian: دهستان بربرود غربی) is in Borborud-e Gharbi District of Aligudarz County, Lorestan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Zazam.

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the Central District) was 11,171 in 2,045 households.[3] There were 10,131 inhabitants in 2,345 households at the following census of 2011.[4] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 6,029 in 1,570 households, by which time the rural district had separated from the district in the establishment of Borborud-e Gharbi District. The largest of its 41 villages was Shahpurabad (now a city),[5] with 1,522 people.[2]
