The Central District of Gonbad-e Kavus County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان گنبد کاووس) is in Golestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Gonbad-e Kavus.

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 261,492 in 59,054 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 300,846 people in 77,501 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 320,894 inhabitants in 89,646 households.[2]
