The Central District of Quchan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان قوچان) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Quchan.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 169,575 in 42,844 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 171,421 people in 48,588 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 166,868 inhabitants in 50,260 households.[2]

After the census, the village of Mezerj was elevated to the status of a city.[6]

In 2019, Dughayi Rural District and Quchan Atiq Rural District were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Abkuh District[7] and Quchan Atiq District,[8] respectively, each of which was divided into two rural districts.
