Quchan Atiq Rural District (Persian: دهستان قوچان عتيق) is in Quchan Atiq District of Quchan County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Asgarabad,[3] transferred from Shahr-e Kohneh.[4]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the Central District) was 24,559 in 6,137 households.[5] There were 23,226 inhabitants in 6,663 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 21,037 in 6,521 households. The largest of its 48 villages was Shahr-e Kohneh (now a city),[7] with 3,320 people.[2]

In 2019, Dughayi Rural District and Quchan Atiq Rural District were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Abkuh District[8] and Quchan Atiq District,[3] respectively, each of which was divided into two rural districts.
