The Central District of Tabas County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان طبس) is in South Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Tabas.[3]
At the National Census in 2006, its population (as a part of Yazd province) was 43,188 in 11,296 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 48,569 people in 13,755 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 52,528 inhabitants in 15,940 households,[2] by which time the county had been separated from the province and become a part of South Khorasan province.[6]
