Esmailabad (Persian: اسماعیلآباد) is a city in the Central District of Khash County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.[3] It was the capital of Sangan Rural District before it was moved to the village of Sangan.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,503 in 497 households, when it was a village in Esmailabad Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,863 people in 643 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,868 people in 1,193 households.[2]
In December 2019, the village of Esmailabad was elevated to the status of a city.[3]
