Guran (Persian: گوران, also Romanized as Gūrān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Kenar Rud Rural District of Bala Taleqan District of Taleqan County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 553 in 175 households, when it was in Bala Taleqan Rural District of the former Taleqan District, Savojbolagh County, Tehran province.[5]
In October 2010, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Taleqan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Taleqan as its capital and only city.[6]
The most recent census in 2016 counted 401 people in 155 households,[2] by which time the county had become a part of the newly established Alborz province.[7]
