Hazro (Ottoman Turkish: ترجيل, romanized: Tercil,[2] Kurdish: Hezro[3]) is a municipality and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey.[4] Its area is 426 km2,[5] and its population is 16,093 (2022).[1]
In the local elections in March 2019 Ahmet Çevik from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) was elected Mayor.[6] He was dismissed in November 2019 and the District Governor Ali Öner was appointed as trustee.[7]
