Jaecoo is a marque launched in 2023 from Chinese car manufacturer Chery.[3] The brand is reserved for export SUV models to Europe, Russia, Malaysia, Middle East and South Africa with sales starting in early 2024 in many markets.
The marque was launched in April 2023 in Wuhu, Anhui, China, alongside the Omoda marque. The two brands combined (referred to as "O&J" brands) were targeted to reach annual global sales of 1,400,000 units by 2030 (excluding China).[4] In the same month, Chery established a separate company in China called Anhui Omoda Jaecoo Automobile Co., Ltd. as a sales company.[5]
The name is based on the German word Jäger (meaning Hunter) and the English word Cool.[6]

The first model of Jaecoo is the J7, a rebadged Chery Tansuo 06, and was followed by the J8 (a rebadged Chery Tiggo 9) in October 2023 at the Geneva Motor Show in Qatar.[7]
