The Josie Music Awards is an award organization honoring independent music in all forms and genres; vocalists, performers, songwriters, musicianship, entertainers, songs, albums, music videos, and music industry professionals, among others.[1][2][3][4][5][6] The panel of judges is made up of musicians and music industry professionals.[7]
The Josie Music Awards' first awards ceremony was in 2015 and is held annually in October.[8] The ceremony features live music performances, tributes to music industry icons, and award presentations for composers, songwriters, and performers. Award ceremonies have been held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the Nissan Stadium, The Celebrity Theater in Dollywood, and The Grand Ole Opry House.[9][10]
Past recipients of the Lifetime Career Achievement Award and those inducted into the Independent Country Music Hall of Fame include, Lacy J. Dalton,[11][12] Vern Gosdin,[13] William Lee Golden,[14] Razzy Bailey, Lulu Roman, Bobby G. Rice, Bucky Covington, and T. Graham Brown, among others.[15]

9th Annual Josie Music Awards
The 2023 Josie Music Awards ceremony was held at the Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee on October 22, 2023.[20] Special Guest Presenters included Cledus T. Judd, William Lee Golden, Mr. Talkbox, Jimmy Wayne, Dallas Wayne, Roxane and Tim Atwood, Jimmy Bowen, Mary Sarah, Sammy Sadler, Leon Everette, and Clarence Jey. Bobby Mackey was inducted into the Independent Country Music Hall of Fame and Deborah Allen was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.[21][22]
