Babarashani (Persian: بابارشاني, also Romanized as Bābārashānī, Bābā Rashānī, Bābā Reshānī, and Bābā Rīshānī; also known as Baba Shani)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Chang Almas District of Bijar County, Kurdistan province, Iran.[4] The city is populated by Kurds.[5]

At the 2006 census, its population was 481 in 128 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 573 people in 166 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 509 people in 160 households.[2]
