Pir Taj (Persian: پيرتاج, also Romanized as Pīr Tāj; also known as Pīr Tājī)[3] is a city in Chang Almas District of Bijar County, Kurdistan province, Iran. The city is populated by Turkics.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 6,161 in 1,532 households, when it was a village in Pir Taj Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 6,084 people in 1,783 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,757 people in 1,770 households,[2] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[7]
