Lumar (Persian: لومار, also Romanized as Lūmār; also known as Shahrak Lūmār)[3] is a city in the Central District of Sirvan County, Ilam province, Iran, and serves as both capital of the county and of the district.[4] The city is populated by Kurds.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,702 in 591 households, when it was in the former Shirvan District of Chardavol County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,658 people in 670 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,696 people in 764 households,[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sirvan County, with Lumar as its capital.[4]
